Hardenbergia violacea or the purple coral pea is a native Australian plant that blooms in winter and adds plenty of colour to gardens. Flowers are tiny, with even smaller light green ‘eyes’ , giving this gorgeous flower a lot of character. The plant was the primary inspiration for this artwork, however, adding a Sulphur Crested cockatoo made the piece a lot more fun.
