JANUARY 2022: THE MAKING OF TICKLED PINK

WIP of Tickled Pink!

Pink Waratahs have always been one of my favourite flowers, and this artwork was inspired by the magnificent blooms in my garden. The name ‘Waratah’ comes from the aboriginal word for ‘beautiful’, while their botanical term ‘ Telopea’ means ‘to be seen from a distance’. Indeed, their blooms are other worldly, and in celebration of this gorgeous flower, I decided to add another Aussie icon to this illustration, the Galah.
